Cutting to the chase—if anyone’s been fired for overbilling, were you/have you seen anyone bounce back in their career?

Why would anyone know this outside of your previous firm?

like

How much are we talking here?

like

I got fired for underbilling but I mean I guess it can happen the other way too 😅🥴. I’ve never heard of someone being fired for overbilling. Are we talking about 5-10hrs or something egregious like 200+ hours?

like

Normally, what happens is the associate in question gets taken off matters because they are too expensive. And then they get fired for low hours.

like

They won’t try to figure it out for you.

The cases of overbilling that you usually see involve people being disciplined by their bar association for ethical violations, since overbilling is an ethics issue. So, no, not really.

like

By “overbilling” you mean inflating the numbers, I.e., fraud?

Yeah I hope those people don’t “bounce back”.

Could anyone help me understand which one is better to join in terms of hikes, technology used and work life balance. I have to join on Tuesday, 16 Aug.

After that I got call from hr and said my interview is scheduled on next week and very next day one person called me and asked few technical questions .she said she's calling from infosys and this is technical screening round . Today same hr called and said she will be scheduling a client interview.

My doubt is till now I didn't received any mail from infosys. So this is scam or part of infosys interview process?

Do you think partners in law firms have too much power and autonomy? eg. the power to refuse leave, to do your annual appraisal, to make you work while on leave, to overwork people, to manage the team on their on terms etc. Is this power bad or good for the firm and the team overall?
