HootSuite managers get $12/hr. That's the same thing right?

like

NetSuite still exists? Hopefully you're helping people move to new technologies.

like

Yea we have a group here at ACN

Highly doubt Oracle would've bought NetSuite if there wasn't much demand for it

Ummm....ever heard of PeopleSoft? Or any of the brands they've let die over the years? Oracle tends to buy products and let them die. All the while converting the clients to Oracle DB licenses.

Peoplesoft just sucked as a product. What other products are you referring to?

Through the eyes of someone every product sucked. Oracle eBusiness Suite is an insult to enterprise software, but people use it. SAP is an antique in a cloud based world yet people spend millions keeping the old turd alive. But if you're a senior consulting it's unlikely you saw these products - or peoplesoft - when they were innovative. 20+ years later they're all bloated or simply relics of a client server past. Now as to Oracle, it's no secret they acquire to assimilate. In its wake we lost some real good companies and products, like Sun. Products don't seem to improve under Oracle.

I've been in consulting for 12 yrs and before joining I was in IT for 8 yrs at a Fortune 500 company that went through 5 different implementations

Why are you a senior consultant if you have 20 years of experience? I'm not trying to be an asshole - you're getting taking advantage of wherever you are. We have partners with 15 years who've never implemented anything but Microsoft Access.

I prefer to be in the weeds as opposed to managing people. I managed people in Industry and I didn't enjoy it very much.

I hear you - but it's a dead end in these firms to not want to manage people. You'll eventually get counseled out for not having managed revenue. Or maybe not, times are changing

Funny that you say SAP is an antique in a cloud based world. Ever heard of Hana?

Hana. Crickets.

The Sr Con level is the most variable in terms of pay and age. Surprised you don't know that for someone who's speaking as if theyve been in the industry for awhile

So salary?

The most variable in a range well beneath what anyone with 20 years should make. Why am I arguing with someone who is in professional services but doesn't want to manage people? Thank those who manage you and those who spent their time helping you, because you're cultivating the careers of no one with your attitude. Bye! Have fun with Hana.

OP if you don't want to manage people I would stay put unless you're clearly on a specialist track with the D offer.

I have no problem managing. Just want some data points for salary

OP it prob ranges anywhere from 120-180. On the lower end of that scale if you started your career at Deloitte as a BTA. On the higher end if you came in as an MBA hire and worked your way up to Mgr or if you came in externally from another company as a mgr with prior NetSuite experience.

I work for a large asset manager and sell alternative investments (PE, RE, Credit, Infra etc) to RIAs, family offices, and multi family offices. Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Anyone who has/ heard of fbookers who successfully switched roles and gotten a promotion (L3 to L4)?

Context I am planning a switch from analyst to data scientist from a non US location to US. However, L4 is needed for this jump (prob due to visa issues). With the current revamp in PSC cycle, I am not sure if I can successfully get promoted by next year and make the jump. To do so, I heard there needs to be 2 EE (for this half and next half).
