A ten days holidays with a promise of complete disconnect is a gift not many receives. You can be with your family or enjoy as you please, without knots of work related responsibilities tied to your neck.
Sadness, OP, as you mentioned in one of your comments is that you otherwise get satisfied with a ₹500 mere materialistic gift that loses its value the moment you receive it.
I'd rather you had enjoyed a moment, than a mere thing, my dear.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help. Do I need to be worried about getting fired for low hours?

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄. Is it wrong that I'm sort of pissed off by this? Should I say something?

Hi,

Any reviews for Swiss Re as a company? I'm close to getting an offer and want to particularly know about the following:
1. Non-monetary benefits (life, accident and medical insurance details, any other benefits)
2. Paid time off (leave) policy
3. General culture (including WFH support)
4. Work life balance
5. Typical increment and bonus levels (VP level preferably)

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. How are you all feeling about going into the holiday season while being remote? Missing the company holiday parties, or happy to be able to do your own thing?

For anyone that resigned without an offer lined up and took time off, what did you tell your team as a reason for leaving? I’m just not happy with my company but don’t want to jump into something new yet.
