Agree with M2 family comes first. I am looking to travel soon.
A couple of options I discussed with McK were:
1. Work for 1 month on U.S. payroll (can’t do more due to tax reasons).
2. Max out PTO, other available options ( sick leave, COVID days, etc).
3. You can be on leave of absence for up to 6 months with 10% pay.
4. Apply for a short term transfer to India office if the travel ban is not lifted in 6 months.
5. Look for visa appointments in other countries (Dubai, Mexico, Canada). Deloitte legal should have latest updates on which country is open for appointments.
Someone from PwC traveled recently and can guide on how they plan to come back.

well do not compare Deloitte immigration with McK.... D immigration & policies will not provide any assistance ....you are on your own in D....

I have heard folks going to the U.S. consulate in Dubai to get their visa stamped. The latest update was getting appointments in the Dubai office is very challenging/they get cancelled last minute/ you need to be a UAE resident to get an appointment. Hope this will change in a couple of months. The situation is getting better in India after the lockdown.
Ask your wife with work with Deloitte talent. Deloitte is vast and everyone has different experiences. Two of my teammates in Deloitte Advisory are currently stuck in India and they are allowed to telecommute. Decision are made on basis of each case.
Folks working in public sector projects most probably won’t get exception.
Telecommute? You mean they can go to local offices in India? Or work from India
An analyst on team at D is telecommuting for the last one month... stamping is a different thing though as they had a valid stamp on the passport
Thank you, wife received approval for telecommuting until June 26 but no idea what after
