Anyone have thoughts on either from the inside? Are these truly consulting roles or more so delivery? Pay, expectations, etc.

Other than higher pay (I didn’t become a lawyer to get rich 🤣) what is the benefit of working for BigLaw, or private practice in general? As a government lawyer, I make 6 figures, have excellent benefits, no billable hours requirements, more time off than I know what to do with (including mental health days), a pension, a 401(K), option to chose whether to WFH or not, no weekend work, no working before 8am or after 5pm. It seems like so many lawyers in private practice are unhappy.

I would appreciate any advice or tips on certificates and jobs that I could use to grow my career in the healthcare field… primarily focused on wellness and administration. I am currently a practice supervisor and it’s starting to fill like my opportunities and pay will remain between the 60k-75k range without going for my masters degree.

Genuinely asking for input from folks good with managing money. Grew up around very poor $ habits. Single mid 20s. Making $85k, rent is $1,650. No car pymt or debt. Have 6 mo emergency fund. Been contributing 10% (+ 4% match) to 401k and maxing Roth IRA. I budget for and track every dollar I spend and enjoy my life without being overly extravagant. Would most people be spending less and contributing more to 401k? I’d love to be someone who maxes out 401 - but don’t feel it’s realistic? Thanks!

I’m new to US healthcare. I had a dentist in network, but he moved out of network. I went for a cleaning and got slapped with a pretty high out of pocket. I called to cancel my upcoming appointments. They said they were sorry and offered to do the service with no OOP expense to me, only taking whatever my insurance covers. Can I get in trouble for this?
