Not that great. Made M and bailed not too long ago
@OP It's not lol. The jumps firm to firm are 20-30%. Then if you want you can go back to your old firm and finesse even more money and a higher title. Salute to @D3!
Thanks for the insights D1,2,3.. makes me wonder if it is worth sticking around at all.. it is getting harder to drag self to work everyday doing shitty work!
@A1 level doesn't matter. If you've put in 18-36 months at a decent firm and are able to present your story well, you can go virtually anywhere else and get that bump and a nice bump in title too which is important to show progression on that resume.
Even though FB would present this image that every other person gets promoted every 2 years or so, we know that isn't really the case, so yes a single bump of 20-30% plus the little increases the next couple years (let's say another 5% to be modest) is going to be more than the 12-16% the average person would get in 3-4 years.
Ultimately it comes down to your perspective on companies and your brand. Beyond companies not being loyal and me not being passive in getting as much money as possible, I see value in being able to show a diverse background, progression (shown in the title bumps) and ability to drive solutions in various contexts - I think being a lifer anywhere can stunt your development.

At what level do those figures hold true sc? Can you jump firms 2 years in and see that or is it more in the realm of 4+ years worked?
