I love those responses. Big consultant energy.
I think it’s UK only.
It is. I doubt Dan will co-sign this 😔
Everything about the Twitter thread is uncomfortable.
- there's this idea that everyone wants to be remote 100% of the time, which is...just not really true. There's pros and cons to both, and MBB consultants aren't all going to hop ship just to be remote.
- Nobody takes themselves as seriously as consultants when they get to flex prestige from the company they work for. Seriously, there's more to life than a brand.

Why are consultants so intimidated by Deloitte that they need to constantly disparage its name
Yeah, don't work at Deloitte but I have met people many people who do and they aren't any more arrogant or rude than anyone else I've met in consulting. Not sure where this stereotype comes from? Disagree with the intimidated part though lol. I don't think anyone is scared of the big D

My biggest nightmare would be a fully remote job
Guess not everyone from McK is jumping ship then xD
Working remotely from home doesn’t help pay the mortgage of the house i’m working from, if anything my costs now go up.
How about Deloitte pay us competitively or in a cohort model like those consulting firms that this clown on twitter took shots at?
I mean D5 is definitely right here. I traveled full time for 7 years before COVID and it is financially beneficial. You don’t pay for meals or gas and accrue miles / points to make vacations cheap. And there’s other perks beyond that even that Accenture had for travelers. So yea, if you were used to traveling and now you don’t, your costs definitely go up.
I get why people want to WFH forever, I personally don’t. More because I like the in-person interactions than the cost savings. But it was a nice perk.
Well good to know I'll never work for Deloitte UK
UK only
Isn’t this just applying to working out of Deloitte offices? And if so, why is it a big deal? Do you guys have to go into your offices for non-client reasons?
Lmao am I the only one missing why there is so much vitriol towards Deloitte in the responses? I know there “better” brands, but thought D was still respectable. These distinctions seem arbitrary and petty after a point
it’s bc of their responses on this app
If they did, there will be pros and cons. I wonder if your intent is to be remote if they adjust your pay in the hiring process?
For Advisory, we were told we need to “collocate” on an as needed basis. So figure out what your project requires and do whatever you want otherwise.
I was told I can be remote as long as I want to be.
Not UK only. Canada too
Deloitte US is virtual till Sept 6 only.
Seems the beauty of what Deloitte did is to give people who want to go in that flexibility and people who don’t the flexibility to do that too. So the employee is empowered to choose which is FAR better than KPMG telling us we have to go in 4 days every two weeks. The logistics of the “2 days in a week” thing with a family is ridiculous. Daycares don’t cater to “two day a week” children, number one. Number two, parking. Number three, meeting coordination and making dr appts, etc. Just tell people to decide where they work best, like Deloitte, and leave it at that.
And this creates more jobs in America. We need new meter maids more specialized in tracking compliance…
