Did you pursue this line of work because it interested you, or because you were influenced/pressured by someone? I know this is a weird career for someone to pressure someone into, but I promise you stranger things have happened.

Work interested me and payed much better than my previous engineering role. (This may not apply to SV engineers but applies almost everywhere else). And more WFH opportunities than engineering. 4 years in and no regrets. Left my 10 year enginnering career behind. While I miss that work and my former colleagues, I’m happy.

I pursued it because I was interested. I actually had a few attorneys I networked with in grad school try to influence me not to.

Hi all, I’m a mom of 2 (2.5 years and 9 months). I’ve been with IBM five years as a data scientist and more recently as a product manager. I’m looking for my next role and I’ve been applying to jobs externally for about a month and I’ve only received rejections. I’ve struggled with postpartum depression during the first few months. I’ve been doing a lot better lately but I’m feeling these rejections are starting to get to me. Any PMs out there willing to share any advice or connect with me 1x1?

I (28F) went on a date and everything was going great until the guy (33M) revealed he was currently carrying an active handgun on his belt for protection. I talked to some friends and family about this and they don't think it's a big deal. The date was otherwise really great. I just can't seem to get over this piece.

In prosecution, if a patent attorney does not try to remove prior art cited by an examiner (eg a 130 affidavit to assert an exception under102(b)(1)(A)), but instead makes arguments to overcome the art, may the attorney made an admission that bars removing the art later in prosecution. Just received such a transfer case, looking for options.

First year associate thinking about making the just from medium sized reputable IP firm to In House. Started at said firm summer of 1L year as a law clerk/patent agent in May 2019, have worked through school and full time as associate since Sept 2021. Feeling very “stuck” in day to day work. Love the patent/IP space but drafting and pros w/minimal human interaction is getting very difficult. Thinking In House would be better, but not sure how much experience needed. Thoughts?

This is the first marketing approval of A. Would the extended patent cover someone using combination A and C? I don't think so but would love to have input.

Is it the same answer if someone else was using A, B, and C?
