How busy are the Big4s in the public sector in Toronto and Canada overall? Any layoffs or are people fully utilized?

Promoted to SSE with 25% hike and VP as 9% . I had received ACE award in Q3 . I have also maintained utilization report 100% still I got less VP. Can I ask manager to revisit the component

I wish admin utilized Tier 1 supports with teachers. Smiles, appreciations and acknowledging ones efforts would do a great deal to boost morale and climate. I just don’t understand what that is so hard to do.

Has anyone utilized Worthy Bonds. Apparently the bonds are secured by the small businesses inventory they loan to. Right now my HYSA is about 1% and they are offering 5%.

A previous employer reached out and offered me a Senior Product Designer role with a 40% increase base salary. I am considering this, as I have been feeling under utilized at my current role + dealing with of uncertainty lately. But I would be forfeiting a lot of RSUs if I leave. I am in the middle of my vesting period (2/4 yrs), and this year alone would have 256 shares vesting (~$500 share price). The new role will come with shares, but at a small share price. Y’all just a quick vent - I am 10 weeks 4 days and just really f*cking tired of being tired and nauseous. Work is like pulling teeth right now with a difficult client and a director/partner who aren’t respecting boundaries particularly well with some utilization BS on top of it. I have anxiety and ADHD just normally and this is our first child (but second pregnancy after one miscarriage earlier this year). Just uuugggghhhhh. Tips for coping appreciated.

So glad I found this group! I’ve hopped through 3 jobs since graduating 2 years ago. They all start out great- I ace interviews, flourish creatively, and get super positive feedback from managers. Few months in, my interest begins to wane. Productivity dies off, and engagement in my work falls of the cliff. I took a job with a company and signed the first offer they gave me because I was desperate( worst mistake ever would not recommend) they offered me 50k and now a year after being with said company I’m regretting it big time. How would you go about bringing up compensation. I don’t want to lose my job, or have any negative consequences for asking for more!

Anyone in the AML/Compliance field? I have been an analyst/investigator for almost 3 years and have moved up with small salary increase two times ($5k in total over 2.5 years). I have a CAMS certification and have been on multiple projects while always meeting or exceeding expectations. I feel like my company pays fairly low compared to the rest of the industry but don’t want to be greedy as I am continuing to move up.

Professional in the Midwest with 5 years experience. Recently got an offer for a fully-remote (main benefit I want) Senior Business Systems Analyst role at $112k base + 10% Bonus + Equity Grant of $20k in the next 4 years (basically an additional $5k / year).

This seems more than in line with the national average for this position.

My main counter that I would like to ask for is a $10k Signing-Bonus.

Is the Equity Grant basically the Signing-Bonus?

Highlights of the year: flew out on 12hr notice to evac E Europe-based employees & families, plugged 3 exposures before they became breaches, built TVM/privacy program from scratch, onboarded new CNAPP.

I'm in the offer stage for a job at Google. I live in Colorado, but will be working remotely. However, they are basing the salary on a Colorado location, which is actually lower than most of their other regions. Should I ask them to provide the minimum salary range for the role as per sb19-085 (8-5-20)?

HELP PLEASE!! How likely can a US comp bring on employee thru Canadian office? I'm Canadian and got a verbal offer for a US role (I'd move on TN visa). 2 days later, HR calls me and said after checking, immigration team has said TN is a no go, and will now see if can bring me on thru CAN office instead.

Important detail: hiring manager has rlly close relationship with CAN office.

Does base vs bonus really matter? I have an offer for 160k with 15k sign on. I was hoping for ~180k bonus (without sign on). But doing the math, it comes out very close to as if I’d have a 175k base without sign on? Maybe I used wrong tax rates? Anyone can help?
