Do finance professionals stay underpaid too long out of loyalty? I think a lot of people wait for promotions that aren’t actually coming.

I work as a PM, 10 years of experience and my TC is 175K, which I find competitive. My first 3-4 or so years of work I felt pretty under compensated. I waited to make a change back then because of the “I probably need more work experience” mentality. Nowadays I’m more concerned with staying remote and not having to ever set foot back in office.

I’m definitely paid under market but I mostly wfh and I’m comfortable in my job. If comp was my only motivator then I would move jobs, however I put value on other benefits. I think a lot more people than you’d expect feel this way.

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
