Think that’s right. You definitely don’t just automatically go to $800k if you’re promoted to SC. Have heard of that range existing though for special circumstances or people that have been SC awhile.

Can DM me
Can they, sure. Do most of them earn that? No. One tier partnerships treat Cs as income Ps, so you can see C comp get pretty high (in some cases like at PW I have seen it at $1m+). The exception is DPW which seems to underpay their Cs. And you're more likely to see higher C comp where promotion is not imminent.
Special counsel salaries vary pretty widely. I have heard that some former Schulte special counsel were paid in the $600k-$800k range so it wouldn’t surprise me if Fried Frank paid their special counsel the same.

Who is not a peer of whom?
Coach
Yeah I wouldn’t necessarily say Skadden isn’t a peer. They’re much larger by headcount certainly but similar ball park on PPP ($5.1m vs $6m)

I guess if that’s the only barometer sure, but I think in large marquee practices at FF almost everyone makes equity after a few years. You just stop over at NEP for a bit to grow into the partner role but the comp is materially more as an NEP than firms outside the v10 or so.
