Hello, what is working in retail banking like at JPMorgan Chase ? Specially the branch manager role. I’m looking in the Columbus area. How is pay, culture, benefits, sales environment, meetings, etc. How easy is it to transition from retail banking to corporate. I hear the Polaris campus has great opportunities, I was thinking about getting my foot in the door through retail then transferring to corporate ?

I’m an L6 SDM at Amazon but a Meta recruiter sent me an M2 sdm job description. I have all the XP I need from previous job experience but does Meta keep your same level as Amazon? Meaning if I am an L6 at Amazon am I automatically interviewing at M1 or can I jump to an M2?Amazon Facebook (Meta)

Yes I generally just consider them to be benefits. While I don’t care that much about the monetary benefit of these benefits, I do think that they’re a good indicator of the type of culture these companies have.
For example, my old company had a $100 per person per quarter team budget for events. We all make a significant amount of money, so $400 per person annually is a small sum of money, but it built team culture and folks hung out because of it.
As another example, the company also reserved $50 for birthday cake for everyone’s birthday. It’s $50 but it created a culture of taking time to celebrate folks birthdays and making folks feel more of a friend than coworker.
I agree. It's not nearly about the money as much as it is a tangible indicator that they value you. Of course, the higher the amount, the more one might feel valued.
Honestly, it's a factor but I would much rather have any amount of many than a pizza party or some such. I really hate generic office parties, probably because I'm that salty person with a bunch of food allergies who always feels forgotten . I'd much rather have cash haha
It's considered to be separate from any compensation program, so it would probably get lumped into the "benefits" pile.
