My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

I've stayed in touch with a number of former colleagues that became friends. We text and get together every once in a while to catch up and talk shop.
Not really, I'm not a particularly good networker, so I don't exactly reach out to people I don't know. But I do keep in touch with old colleagues and people who move on to new roles, but only those that I genuinely feel friends with/would want to catch up with
Yep, some of my closest friends are former coworkers. I never actually „network” though, so I don’t keep relationships with people that I don’t genuinely like.
From one previous company and I have worked in 5 companies so far.
It was the 3rd company I joined and stayed there for 2.5 years.
They were the best teammates one could ever have.
Still a monthly beer is common with these guys where we share our current affairs and they have been really helpful in referrals for companies I joined later. This type of team was a goldmine honestly and I don't know if I ll ever get to have such a team again. I'm 31 right now...so let's see.
Yes, a handful of colleagues from previous roles.
Stop this I have a good job so Stop messaging me.
Yes, absolutely. We work 40 hours a week on a mission together, sometimes for years. It’s inevitable that some of those people become “real” friends :)
Yes, I oddly found more people like me at work. If we weren’t close or shouldn’t be close, I blocked them. However, the friendship level has boundaries, because I know that when money is a factor the friendship may not be as true.
I’m looking forward to making more Data Science friends!
Just one. He has a family and children to which Im mildly jealous of, but not my thing. I feel I annoy him. But then he randomly drops by on a crotch rocket because I was out doing whatever. 😂
Yep, a lot. They made work really fun. Wish I had that again here.
I made friends whom i keep close. Hard to stay in touch for networking benefits over the years. Loose contacts can help with soft referrals if they want. It’s about roi on time invested and peace of mind
