Do you like bringing the newest technology into your home?

No.

Haha why not?

No and that is probably a result of my upbringing. My parents were always late adopters of technology. As an example, my family used dial up internet until 2010, when we finally got broadband internet.

So because of this, I have never been fussed about having the latest technology around me all the time. When I buy technology (especially big ticket items) I expect its useful life to last a number of years before I need to upgrade it.

For sure!

It’s always exciting to try new things out! I wouldn’t generally consider myself an early adopter though because either the price or quality have not been worked out.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run?
