Do you see yourself at your company in 5 years?

Nope not the way they currently treat their staff

like

Probably not. I am currently of the mindset that you should switch every few years.

like

I did at one point… however its become very challenging to move up in the company and no one wants to help or mentor you so not at the moment

like

Absolutely not. The culture here is really bad!

Nope.. One more week and I’m out of here!!

Congrats!

Nope- I don’t see myself there long beyond the date I receive an offer elsewhere . Horrible culture , no support for skill development and mediocre pay. The only reason I’m still there now is because I have flexibility to look elsewhere without sacrificing income - though I am considering leaving before a decent offer comes through. Have received many , but none that I’ve considered decent.

Hang in there Senior Data Analyst!

Yes. I see no reason to move. The salary and benefits are competitive with other firms of similar size and location. I own a house in this community. My children attend good schools. We have set down roots in a church and social organizations. Why would I uproot everyone just to go do the same thing with someone else and HOPE they are as easy to work with as where I already am?

like

Do you think people are more likely to stay at a firm if they have kids?

I see myself there for 3.5 more years - which is when I’ll be 100% vested in 401k matching contributions

like

(At my previous firm)

No

This job is the only one I’ve lasted 5 years at, COVID made the time go by lots faster. I thought I was happy, but with return to office mandates, and measly 3% annual raises, I’m starting to look but not seeing many jobs that meet my salary expectations and those that do, have thousands of applicants and not getting any interviews. But I hear all the time you gotta move to get big salary bumps so I’d love all insights!

Not at all

I do see the potential benefits of staying somewhere longer than 5 years but that will only work for me if there was some kind of retention bonus, promotion, or salary adjustment

In an ideal world I'd love to see myself still thriving and growing within my current company. Maybe taking on some more challenging projects, mentoring newer members of the team ya know, really making a meaningful impact.

Hi all! I’m inclined on taking up the CIPM training and certification exam. I’m already a certified Data Protection Officer in the Philippines. I intend on skipping CIPP as it applies to the US and EU.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Many thanks in advance.

I was downsized by this company 6 years ago and had worked for them for 8 years prior. I am now in talks with them about another oppertunity but they do not want to let me start back with those 8 years. I looked up standard practice and according to the standards at the Society of Human Resources Management HR should give me my time back cause I was downsized (not fired for cause and I did not quit). What should I do?
