Yes - I'd feel less safe if I lived in the hood but then again I wouldn't want to live in the hood in any city.
Third largest city in the US, of course sad stuff like this will happen. I used to live in Mexico City so definitely feel safer in Houston.
I think technically 4th but same thing
Houston is huge and not homogenous. Pick a neighborhood you feel safe in. What happens elsewhere is none of my business
Yes, I feel extremely safe in my chosen neighborhood bubble, but I am on yellow alert always and aware of my surroundings whenever I’m not at home. This is just a good practice in any place, I’d still be the same way in a small town. Drive defensively, stay aware of your surroundings, trust your gut, and use common sense (don’t visit an atm late at night or get gas, etc).
lol yes. It’s extremely unlikely you will be involved in a situation like this.
If you zero in on “crime time” reporting it will always feel that way.
As someone else said,we’re one of the largest cities in the entire US and the rare at which we’re growing, everything else will grow along with it, good and bad.
I’ve been here 11 years now and I feel safe here.
