I usually take it off. You probably want to treat yourself and do nicer things than work on that day. It’s only once a year after all, so take the day off if you feel like it :)
I didn’t know they allowed children on this site…take all the time you need little boy or girl - you earned it!
Jokes aside…keep stacking sats and in short order this won’t be a question for you
I usually take a week off and go on vacation for my birthday.
I NEVER work on my Bday if I can help it...it's a selfcare/mental health day
Been taking my birthday off 25+ years.
I've never taken my birthday off. I think it's great that you do. We keep being told to take off, recharge, disconnect, celebrate....when you do you get this negativity. Remember, if you die on the job the vacancy announcement will hit LinkedIn before anyone can write your obituary
Take it off! Enjoy your day!
I go to work.
I have been so inspired! I always plan to but then end up having a very good reason not to take the day off but never again! From now on, I'm off on my birthday. As someone stated, I am not a doctor, so no one's gonna die, thank God!
since the age of 16, i have never worked on my birthday. but, I am usually the one that is willing to work all holidays, so i consider this a fair trade off. also, i always make sure to give ample reminders to whoever i was working for at the time.
WFH at birthday
Work from home at birthday
Meanwhile, my birthday is this Sunday and I took this and next week off 😂
I take it off every year. Not everyone chooses to do that. I don't see the big deal and don't understand why its childish.
My company gives each employee a 'floating holiday'. Most use it to take off their birthdays. I however always work my birthday and use it for an extra day of vacation.
Heck yeah, I’ll never make that mistake again. It’s not fun to go in and end up with no control over potential stress and no one acknowledging! But to each their own.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Largely depends on what day of the week it falls on. I am at the point where it's not that big of a deal to take it off.
I always take it off.
I almost never do but my assistant always takes her birthday off.
