I usually take it off. You probably want to treat yourself and do nicer things than work on that day. It’s only once a year after all, so take the day off if you feel like it :)
I didn’t know they allowed children on this site…take all the time you need little boy or girl - you earned it!
Jokes aside…keep stacking sats and in short order this won’t be a question for you
I usually try to take it off
Yep I take it off every year no matter what. It's also Dec 31st though, so is always 2 days off because of new years
Unless it falls during a planned vacation, I wouldn't put that as a priority.
I never take it off because my birthday is in March- so kinda not prime time to try to take it off in public accounting.
I try to take my birthday off every year. My birthday isn’t in busy season so it usually isn’t an issue. I mainly take the day off so that I can spend time with my family and take a day off from dealing with clients. If my team needs me then they know that I’m available to them but it’s usually slower paced at that point so nothing urgent comes up. I encourage my team to do the same for their birthdays.
My birthday is during busy season….so, no….
If you have a birthday during a time of year that isn’t as busy, I don’t see why not if that makes you happy.
For sure take if off!! I try to take it off every year. My birthday is a Sunday this year so I won’t but every year otherwise I do!
Take it off far enough in advance - you know when it is. And enjoy the day.
Are you going to Chuck E. Cheese or mini golf for your birthday?
I've done mini golf, with an adult beverage, it's a blast.
Hey,it’s your day spend it doing something special for yourself.
Your husband seems like a lot of fun. His favorite expression is probably “Get off my Lawn”
I don’t take the day off because I don’t particularly care for my birthday but if you enjoy it and want to take the day off, go for it.
In my previous role, usually not, since I was the only one who could do certain things that happened to fall due at the same time, but in my current role there's plenty of backup for everything I do, so I can take my PTO time pretty much whenever I choose 😊
Not that I did anything all that special for my day off -- just relaxed at home with the TV, games on my phone, & some crocheting. Then got dinner delivered from Red Lobster & my mom baked a cake for dessert 🥰
Do what you want. I don’t care about birthdays personally. I also work in tax and have a birthday less than a week before 4/15, so it’s pretty hard to get that off.
I always took my birthday off work, I took it as a day off from my leave. But working shift work, it quite often worked in my favour with my birthday falling on my days off. I am hearing that a lot of people have their birthdays off and a few companies are starting to give their staff a day off for their birthdays, my son's employer give their staff the day off. So have it off and enjoy it 😉
If it falls on a Monday / Friday, yea usually. If it’s the middle of the week no.
Do whatever you want but I wouldn’t tell people you’re taking off specially for your birthday, there are people that would 100% judge you
My birthday only became significant much later in my life. So yes, I take it off. As a child and for the first part of my complete adult life (with owning a home), birthdays meant nothing.
Celebrate,it's not childish. From someone who did not celebrate birthdays for years.
If I have a client meeting or something that day, I won't, but otherwise, absolutely! Birthdays are fun! Why wouldn't I take the day to relax, reflect on my blessings and what I want to accomplish in the next year? I do everything for everyone else all year - I do not feel bad at all for taking one day for me (and I'm usually still doing something that's fun for my kids anyway - its good for them to learn that its fun to celebrate other people.)
Off - always
