Do you think the title Specialist or Lead sounds higher? Are there any other titles that would fall directly below Manager as second-in-command?

Personally, lead sounds higher. Specialist sounds more like a SME while Lead indicates that you are leading/owning a process/group and potentially a team.

100% lead is better. Specialist is usually a support unit in my experience.

Hi All!
This is my first post in Fishbowl, I'm looking for some genuine guidance on below query.

I have a total of 8.1 yrs of development experience in Java, Bigdata and Hadoop (new to it).
I got an offer from Capgemini for Manager/C2 designation with a CTC of 24 LPA. I just wanted to know the roles and responsibilities at this designation.
Will it be a profile shift from technical to managerial position or is just a designation (as per HR) the actual job would be to lead/guide any team?
Thanks
