McKinsey & Company Hi all! Any fishes at BCG and/or McK have time to chat sometime within the next few days/weeks?
I’m a consulting analyst at Accenture, really interested in strategy work (mainly tech/software clients but open to all backgrounds) hoping to make the jump some time next year. I’d very much appreciate connecting to understand your journey with the firms and the work you do.
Thanks in advance, and happy holidays!

It’s smart to stay cautious, even with a trustworthy boss. Trust is important, but keeping some boundaries can protect you from potential surprises. It’s all about balance—trust but verify, and always look out for yourself too!
NO, not all, but some, are only after what is best for them. You are a body. At the end of the day, it's all about how they look to upper management. Cross them and all the heart to hearts you thought were sweet will bite you in the end. In the work place, trust very few! It didn't used to be like that. It evolved into a toxic environment that will literally make you sick.
I would never fully trust anyone at work. I’ve learned that the hard way.
Sadly I am in the process of learning the hard way!!!
Don't ever let your guard down. Always protect yourself.
My boss does not have my co-workers' or my best interest in mind. They are only concerned about the bottom line & how they are perceived as successful by the heads of the institution. -- If your boss has a PROVEN track record of supporting & promoting their staff... that's another story.
Not entirely
Hell no
My Boss is better than most, but their interest will always come first. I want to let my guard down as they are good people and I'm there and stay there because of the stated values, and contributions to the community. When I leave be it on my terms or theirs, I intend to remain friends both professionally as well as in the community. Don't let your guard down and keep your resume up to date. I would wager most people have very few people in life who hold their interests ahead of their own. the Human species has a long history of selfishness.
100% my CEO has payed for multiple continued education credits for my certs. She has always championed my personal development. It helps that she’s very personable and so I can tell her anything tbh.
Do not trust your boss .They are not friends it's a business in a split second that loyal worker for 20 yrs plus gets stepped on no promotion a tone of work and boss not giving promotion or incentives for growth .I love it when I see those ass kissing employees that stay loyal to the boss and go in and tell everything about the workers not knowing in a split second the boss
replaces them ..Had an experience where this one worker made up a string of lies ..She felt because she was chummy with the boss she could tell the coworkers off because he made her feel entitled. The best was yet to come she was the first employee the boss fired because he saw through her lies and found out that she was imfluencing the patients and playing the sympathy card .The boss immediately fired her from the job for causing a world of trouble with the staff
Another instance the boss had her pet employee who used to clean her home Thought that this made her job more secured . The boss went on vacation and the pet employee who worked there at the job for 15 yrs got some heat and was fired..The boss never vouched for her that she waa so great etc..
So not a good thing to be friends with boss cause they treat you like a doormat . They may sometimes play the employees against each other and make them think that whatever complaints they are spreading is unique .The boss sometimes uses complaints or your intricate details against you.
So never let them know that you are smarter than them some bosses can't handle a challenging employee who has an opinion ..
The boss wants you to work produce numbers increase satisfaction scores and keep business running smoothly the boss does not want drama fights with auxiliary staff or they don't want you being more educated than them That makes them extremely nervous..
Crazy thing is, the boss could use the intelligence to her advantage but she nor most see this as a positive for them or the hospital.

After retirement from the VA..i would trust nobody. Be cautious of everyone.
Rising Star
In general yes. However she has lied to me to get me to do things. In the moment I didn't know but I found out later. That being said it worked out in the end, those lies didn't place me in a terrible position. I would much prefer straight honesty though.
No
I trusted my boss with information about a personal matter and I come to find out a week after I told her she shared it with coworkers as a form of an excuse to why I couldn’t cover a surgery when I was already in a previous surgery.
Absolutely not. They don’t like when they’re called out on their lack of professionalism and not listening to both sides of a story before acting. I know I made the right decision to leave rather than have my license compromised.
Never let your guard down.
