It’s smart to stay cautious, even with a trustworthy boss. Trust is important, but keeping some boundaries can protect you from potential surprises. It’s all about balance—trust but verify, and always look out for yourself too!
NO, not all, but some, are only after what is best for them. You are a body. At the end of the day, it's all about how they look to upper management. Cross them and all the heart to hearts you thought were sweet will bite you in the end. In the work place, trust very few! It didn't used to be like that. It evolved into a toxic environment that will literally make you sick.
I would never fully trust anyone at work. I’ve learned that the hard way.
Sadly I am in the process of learning the hard way!!!
Your boss and coworkers are not your friends. When push comes to shove, they are only looking out for their own interests. Learned that the hard way.
Yes. I learned the hard way too. :(
I trusted my boss for almost 9 months. I didn't complete something the way she wanted and all of a sudden I am being questioned about everything I'm doing. Scrutinized and gaslit. Be careful. Keep the relationship professional, maybe friendly, but don't get sucked in. It can turn on a dime.

That’s almost worse. I like to know upfront but dang, some people are just NOT meant to be managing anyone.
I don’t care how much you know in terms of the law, you are not a leader- my situation lol
Not the culture in any workplace now
No boss have no workers best interest they are just doing what they were put in the position to do as do the workers. Never forget one mistake that will me make them look bad they won't think twice to fire you so they don't have to be reminded of what had happened. Never forget you are replaceable in a flash

I would never trust anyone in the workplace because you never know what kind of people they are until they end up stabbing you in the back. Always keep your guard up and always question the validity and legitimacy of everything that everyone in the office does. Don't take anything in life for granted because you could lose it and once it's gone you can never get it back
So very true!
HELL NO 📣
Always have your guard up!!!!
Keep your guard up
Go to work. Do your job. Look out for self. You have been advised.
I haven’t been given any reason to not trust my boss so far, but that doesn’t mean I’m not hesitant still. A healthy level of suspicion can help! My bigger concern is that other people will have that manager's hands tied and it’s really not up to them anyways.
Not as far as I could spit. The bosses are out to get as much out of you as they possibly can and thats it. Unless like mine they are setting you up to fail so they can say they were right.
You don’t go to work to make friends. You work to make money. Always be on guard and have healthy boundaries.
I had to tell my supervisor that- the application didn’t state go out and drink or eat with anyone nor be their friend. I’m here to work and unless I’m not doing my job properly, that’s all that should be spoken about. And they stated I do my job 100%.
Unless you're lucky enough to find a job where your interests are perfectly aligned with your boss's, I think it's an unrealistic expectation. Even bosses with the best of intentions filter information through their own priorities and perceptions. FWIW, I may be more skeptical than most as I've worked in more than my share of snakepits.

I totally trusted my direct supervisor and the director of special education. Our supervisor was the absolute best, everyone loved him. He truly wanted every one of us to do our best. Our sped director was more of a dictator type, but kind and supportive. When that changed last year (for both positions)- it led to multiple people (4 or 5) quitting and 2 early retirements. They lost about 1/3 of the staff with one year, which is remarkable.
Said no employee ever
Definitely not
My nursing home is a toxic place to work our bosses talk down to us it make the job so hard ..
Same thing here , trust discreetly.
