Hi Fishes,
This is on behalf of a friend .Can someone please put on some light on the below query ?
Company : Morgan Stanley
Designation : Associate - Global
Role : Compliance Technology Strategy
Division : Legal and Compliance
How is this position for a BE+ MBA , total 3+ years of IT experience in top MNC.What would be the expected CTC and next hierarchy designation ( after a promotion ) ? Morgan Stanley
Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

When I got to VP level which was right after the peak of Covid and it dawned upon me that there’s more to life than work and any higher up the ladder I go will force me to give up my personal life for professional life
Once I got to VP I realized I didn’t want to keep climbing. It’s not worth the stress imo. The industry is crazy as it is already. I’ve even taken a role one level below. I’m way happier having balance and little stress. Income wise, I have other ways of bringing money. You just gotta do what makes you happy!
Like seemingly everyone else here, I hit VP level and I realized I was doing a lot and not really loving it. Add a surprise cancer diagnosis into the mix and I noped out of there in a heartbeat. Freelancing ever since. Never looked back. Zero regrets.
They’re giving out titles like pieces of candy. Everyone has an elevated title.
VP. But I’m lucky that my partner has a well paying kind of easy job. So I quit!

How old are you, OP?

I made SVP at 39. By 42 I was ready for a timeout. After an educational sabbatical, I spent 15 years sampling in-house, startups, higher education/lecturing, and consulting. Then I was ready to try agency life again in an individual contributor role. Ugh.
Now I’m ready to step off the ladder, altogether.
