I had the red carpet virtual interview with AlixPartners last week on Friday but haven't heard anything yet. How long does it normally take to hear back from recruiting team? Also, I haven't had a psychologist interview set yet even though I completed my psychology assessments. Is it a red flag that I wasn't invited for an interview with a psychologist? It's not really HR that makes that call. It's an MD (or group of MDs) more senior than the MD you're working with.
Ultimately, the P&L owners for your market unit and/or your practice are making those decisions. Those are the people accountable for total sales/revenue, total expenses, profitability, etc. HR might be the enforcement mechanism on their behalf, but HR isn't actually making any of those decisions on their own.
Maybe this is a nuance that doesn't matter since the result is the same - your MD is being told "no" by the system, and there's almost zero chance he/she will be able to overturn that.
It didn't sounds like my MD was consulted in that process. She was surprised with the results as well. I want to push back one more time

Accenture is a public company. The MDs are not partners. This means that HR actually does have priority in the decision making process for things like salary, primotions, or transfers. It is Acn's biggest drawback.
Worked at Acn before. Not all MDs there have the power
It also depends on which group. For example, in strategy, all base salaries are in lock step. No negotiation possibilities on base. Only bonus.

What are you expecting? Salary wise
Within the salary range (on the higher end) according to our previous conversations and according to glassdoor. And the MD supported it.
Strikes me as odd that if the person controlling the budget said yes, why would HR not approve?
Can you please elaborate on what constitutes "internal equity issues"?
