Yes, my company is closed from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day every year, and those are paid holidays for all employees.
I wish that were the case, but sadly no. I mean we are closed for the holidays themselves but open all the other days.
Yeah, we have a calendar of holidays that we automatically get off because of companywide closures. I think it's nine or 10 holidays per year.
My site is off usually from Christmas eve (half day) to New Year’s Day. Sometimes that shifts a bit to include a day. It takes from typical holidays throughout the year and puts them during this time.

Amgen has two shutdowns company wide, 1 for a week during 4th of July. And another that starts from Christmas Eve until the Friday after new years day. If you are a full time employee it's paid time off, independent of your other PTO.
We are closed on Xmas and New years only, but those are paid. Probably country's employment laws play a big part as well.

In the pharma industry we have site shutdowns 2x a year for regulatory reasons. My company usually aligns these with the winter holidays and 4th of July. The shutdown is for four days. My company has us take mandatory PTO for 2 and gives us 2 paid for free. It is a weird system and I'm not sure how common it is.
