For context, I left consulting a few years ago for a strategy role and have been approached for a role with a PE backed portfolio company. Role reports to the Chief Growth Officer but has a dotted line to CEO. Company has ~700 employees and likely would IPO in next few years. Very large and well regarded PE firm backing. Leaders of company are very well regarded
~250k base seems in the ballpark for a company of that size

Nope. $250k base is more like for a Sr D or Exec D
VP TC between 600k to 850k. SVP between 800k to 1M. These are industry corporate strategy role numbers for CPG
That seems like Fortune 500 VP in my experience, not a smaller PE backed company. I guess there’s wide variance in these sorts of roles

What industry OP?
I’ve been on both sides of the table (as a SVP in industry).
Answered below, but what’s your thought on how it being PE owned makes a difference?
Industry is a niche RE subset that’s in a high growth area. That said it’s ~50B of AUM that the portfolio co oversees so it’s not tiny.
