I’ve been with case smart awhile - it’s a counsel role, not associate. There are bonuses and opportunities for promotion. I think it’s been great for my family and I love being remote while still getting to do real work.
Replying to an old post...but to the Littler associate, I'm genuinely curious how having a Case Smart attorney arrange their schedule with one day a week off (for example) really impacts you or shareholders that much to the extent you're "incredibly frustrated." If someone is super unresponsive for days on end, sure, but how is them taking one day a week off really interfering with your client relationship?
Are you just done billing a regular billable year? Littler associates have a 1900 minimum with 3 days in office requirement. My understanding is there is a good pay cut that goes along with the reduced hours although the case smart can be fully remote. I don’t know the answer to year end bonus (bonuses are not always guaranteed at littler regardless) and my understanding is growth is limited due to the role.
OP How much are they offering and how many yoe? Considering trying to make the switch next fall.
I’m at Littler as a Level 3 in a HCOL area and I like it. The 1900 is very manageable and so I’d recommend that. It’s 2 or 3 days in the office per week but depends on your office really. Some are 2 while others are 3.
It’s driven by your years of L&E experience. Generally 6-8 year
