@BA2, I completely agree. Every hour over 40 is pure firm profit. This bothers me to my core, which is why I'm jumping ship....amongst other reasons... Booz doesn't fit with what I want to do long term.
Sorry, 100% meaning 40 hrs a week. But, if you want to move up at all you need to be well over that 40. Also, if you're looking at Booz, just know, there aren't bonuses.
@ba 1 there is actually very little point in working over 40 hours/week, unless you're doing BD and getting face time with Principals.
We do, it varies by project and level, but anything below management should be 100% billable. I've only seen two folks get fired in my 5 year tenure...they were asking for it though. Can't blatantly disrespect clients and refuse to do work.
Much more likely than "fired" is a lack of work letter. When you get one of those, you have a set amount of time to get billable again. Even people who have been removed from projects because they betrayed client trust typically sit on the bench during an HR investigation and then receive an LOW after they can't find a new b#. The only ways to get fired from bah: lie on pre employment, commit a felony, or put the firm at risk of being disbarred from a federal bid.
Booz clients are all federal. It isnt hard for everyone to get 100%
Hey OP BA2 got it all. BA1: expand? Going into industry or hoping to another firm?
