How much would my tech stack and language be a factor in getting selected in faang or good product based companies?
I'm asking from getting my resume selected to getting an offer.
I read everywhere that only DSA and system design is needed, but I'm still concious about my tech stack.

Don't underestimate freelance either.
I know it prob doesn’t feel like this, but you’re actually in a good situation if you can afford to squeeze by on the extension for a month or so. If so, you can be picky and grab a job you actually want vs need. And it’s funny how it works out, odds are when you do say you’re about to go to a new shop for real money, your current place magically finds real money to keep you.
Definitely don’t call, and definitely don’t call the front desk. The people you want to put your work in front of are CDs, not recruiters (who are simply the gatekeepers to CDs). Send cold emails to CDs you’d like to work for — and ideally CDs who are in the middle of staffing up their accounts. (It’ll take a bit of research and staying abreast of industry news.)
Agree 100% with this advice. Don’t bother cold calling and especially don’t call the front desk / main phone number.
Ask any salesman. Life is a numbers game. Get out there and talk to people. You never know what will happen.

And you’re at bbdo right now?
Can confirm the extension -> eventual job offer thing is very normal for us. There just is not client scope for a lot of junior teams so it’s a way to keep the best intern talent in the building until one opens up.
That said, I don’t agree that’s how it *should* work. Things like that are the reason it’s very difficult for people who don’t come from means or can’t live for free with their parents in the tri-state (often these overlap) to break into the industry. You are correct that the $$ doesn’t work out.
I think you absolutely can and should leverage the offer you have or one that you get. As long as it’s something you’re willing to actually take if BBDO says they still can’t do it. And I think it doesn’t hurt to have conversations with whomever are the most senior creative teams you’ve been working with to advocate for you.
Feel free to DM once it’s unlocked for you if you want to talk more internal perspective.
Liked your shit so you can get a job 🍻
Oncology company I work for is looking for people. Send me a message if you’re interested in learning more
Internship pay in advertising should be above minimum wage. BBDO, and the rest of the industry should do better. When I graduated from college, I couldn't afford to accept an internship from a great agency due to my financial situation not talent. This is something our industry should fix. Not acceptable.

If you’re an intern, they know you’re looking around. I think you should be okay.
Helping with your likes.
Knowing where you want to go, what you want to work on, and who you want to work with can go a long way. What CD or ECD could fully ignore a team reaching out saying “we’ve chosen you”?
Either take the extension or other offer depends on your financial situation but don’t let a gap in your career specially as a junior. It is always easier to find a job when you have a job.
Yes people could contact; I suggest emailing first if they are interested; they will set up a call or video chat. I get most of my jobs with cold contact. Most places don't post their opening and if they do you get lost in application process.
You have some good thinking in your book —— and good writing. I wasn't able to get the Special K link to work, but what I've seen looks promising. I don't really have any advice on how to break in, but you definitely have some talent. Wherever you end up, and no matter how far you go, stay humble. It will make your work even better.
Thank you for letting me know, I just fixed it! I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my book.
