When did leaving work on time (8 hour day) become an act of courage?

Tired of this constant grind and constant layoff situation in NYC. Thinking of making the move to LA. Any thoughts? Yay or nay?

I hate to be morbid, but do we think companies will start to amp up bereavement leave? My colleague’s nephew just passed from c19 and another’s client passed. These policies weren’t for pandemics

I have an opportunity to leave consulting and go to industry in a 100% WFH role (this is what I’m looking for). Problem is, it’s a contract to hire position. My hourly rate as the contractor would be about $40k more per year, but no PTO and the health, dental, and vision would be through TEKsystems (the recruiter). I’m tempted to chase the money but somewhat concerned about being a contractor. Anyone have any experience with this?

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking? I have also considered a sales analyst role considering that I am moderately versed in Salesforce and have worked both the customer facing and sales generating side. TIA!

Hi!! I’m an HR Coordinator currently (about two years of experience) but my job has so many responsibilities and tasks I’m beyond burnt out. It’s truly impossible to focus on one task because things are constantly being thrown my way. I’ve heard whisperings of a promotion or raise, but my workload is already too much, I don’t know if I’d want to accept more responsibility. Is it normal to feel like you have just as many responsibilities as your superiors who make 30k+ more than you?

Hi, I’m currently working as a recruiter in the light industrial and I’m really sick of the non stop calls, interviews and just the nature of this profile. Earlier I was contemplating moving to another field in recruitment but now I’m considering switching to another profile in HR where I can do backend processes/ payroll/ hr systems, cz I want to leave the calls and interviews and sourcing.. please suggest profiles I could take a dig in and explore? I work as a Business Development Manager at a sports club.. I’ve been given a couple of months “trial” in the 6 figure and above sales in which I don’t see going back to my other role on lower sales. This was a somewhat good move for me until I consider missing out on commission each month that was more than my salary. (£25k salary, over £2k per month commission)
