What’s your PTO like? I just started a new position with a $25k increase in salary from my previous role, great benefits (besides PTO), and a good environment …. But I start with 0 hours of PTO and accrue up to 12 days over the course of a year. Am I crazy or is this terrible for a tech position? My previous role, which I hated, had unlimited PTO which we were encouraged to use.

I am going to join USI as SSA on 30th May. Due to some personal issues, I requested HR to provide wfh else I could not join USI and they hv provided it for an year on email and i hv to go if needed which will be told in advance. I asked to update the offer letter but they didn't. Do you think I might need to go to office if I join some project ? The HR told that the email can be used as a proof. Also, can I claim travel reimbursement when I am asked to come for few days?

Tomorrow I am having a meeting with 3 managers above me (I manage my own team). Using data and facts I’ll outline how crushed my team is, including me. I’m advocating for more support and headcount. I’m the only mom to an infant and the last 6 months has crushed me. I can’t give anymore. If this meeting doesn’t go well, how should I quit?

I got my puppy in March she's a Very active lab. We send her to playgroup during the day so she can get out some of this energy. However, before that we used to throw a ball in the morning to get her tired so she can relax. I'm trying to phase out the morning play time however very successfully. She cries and wines untill we play her out. It's December in nyc and absolutely freezing. How can I try to just walk her in the morning and not play her?

She loves the ceiling fan so much.
