So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

No, I believe companies aren’t allowed to do that. Getting fired just gives you zero leverage during interviews, and can be worrisome if you don’t have a cash pile.. and I guess eventually credit scores can be affected if you can’t pay off debt.

Sorry not trying to be facetious but unless getting fired leads to your missing your credit card pmts or other financial obligations, your FICO/TranUnion/and forgot the 3rd one should be intact.

Thanks paht-nuh
Companies usually push for voluntary resignation. Saves them a potential law suit and gets the employee a reasonable severance package.

When a company publishes a policy that says “do X by Y date or you’re fired” and you don’t do X by Y date, you didn’t resign.

It matters in the sense that if you did something really bad, the world is smaller than you think.
It doesn’t matter in the sense that there’s no real central record, and if it’s just a performance issue or whatever after you do well in the next job in a few years no one will know or care.
Lol was being sarcastic when I said “FICO”
But agreed with P1 ; everyone else just thinks there’s some mysterious record
It gets stored in the public cloud
