Why not join a local firm in Seattle instead?
It depends on your practice group. Some groups (partners) in Chicago are more in person. DLA Piper would be easier to do that.

No. But we K&E1 said, they don’t care if you’re in the office.

I think I saw Perkins in Seattle is hiring in corporate. Seems like you’d be better off lateraling to a firm there.
It's a fake post. Check the date
Litigation hires remote, high bar to get offer but hiring so much will take remote if willing to work hard
This was like 2.5 sentences meshed together
I mean, if you hit hours they could care less where you are. But won’t overtly hire remote.
Some groups care. Thought we had a 3x policy?
Very unlikely. It’s true that if you bill enough they won’t care if you are in, but they don’t like to give out full remote offers (which is called off-site at K&E). That being said some extreme cases do happen - I know a partner whose wife has cancer and needs to be at a local hospital so they are off-site.

Short answer is yes, it doesn’t hurt to try if you’re a stellar candidate.
