Does your work do happy hours? And if they do what do they look like? Mine sometimes does but it’s either pretty bleak or on us to purchase so I don’t find them worth it.

We've never done them as an organized or official thing. Sometimes some of us have gotten together just because someone suggested it. It's fun, though I don't do much socializing with work colleagues these days. It seems to be something you age out of, if that makes sense.

They do them on occasion. I will admit, I don't really ever go. I used to go all the time in my twenties but now that I have kids, I am always eager to get home.

Hi Fishes,

Recently, my appraisal cycle got completed. So whenever a recruiter asks about CTC, will I need to add the Gratuity and Insurance and then tell the Total number.

In my company Total CTC = CTC + Gratuity + Insurance.

Please let me know in comments !

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)? It seems like the larger chain stores would have more downtime, but I'm wondering if anyone could give some input.

Hey all, having issues with interviewing this year. I’ve been passed over every opportunity I really want and I’m unsure how to regroup and move forward. A lot of my HPLC and LCMS experience is with already established methods. Any tips?
