I’m $1000 a day. I don’t accept less per day. I’d rather pass on a job than take a rate cut. If you pressed me for an hourly rate it is $100 per hour.
Just about to start my first freelance gig. I said my rate was $1000/day and they negotiated to $900/day.
I never get hourly, it’s always been day rate. I ask for $1200-$1000 depending on client, willing to negotiate to $850.
I never accept anything lower than the threshold of “I’m really pissed I took this rate and it’s turned into a shit show.” If some recruiter wants credit for getting a rate down $100 a day, I rarely fold. I have a family that cares more about that $500 a week than some holding company. It also means asking the right questions about the gig so you don’t get blind-sided.
About the same as EP2. Be careful when negotiating down - I did it to get through the door for what was supposed to be a short gig and stayed way longer than expected. Be really comfortable with your lowest number.
$1200-$1300. Don’t ask, don’t get.
