Ethical dilemma:Got interview in nyc & they told to book flight that they will reimburse. However, I can just travel there from client location and pocket ~$550. Leaning towards doing right. Thoughts?

Pocket it and put it towards your 401k and watch it grow.

I suppose that what I'm suggesting here is that there's no dilemma. You already know the answer, because it's obvious—you're only asking because your conscience is telling you that there's something with pocketing money intended for reimbursement of specific costs. Your conscience is right, so just listen to it and let that be the end of it.

Normally I'm all for taking every penny we're able out of these monstrous company's, But in this case, not worth it.

You could mention you're nearby, so you can save them some money... Bonus points

No one will give a shit if you save them money. Also it's like you want someone on here to say - go do it - to make yourself feel better when you eventually do it anyway. Don't worry, you'll feel better about pocketing the money when you don't get the offer.
