"why do you want to leave?"
"I would like to work less than 70 hours a week. I also disagree philosophically with how the founders run the agency and treat the creatives like they are disposable. I MEAN, I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW ADVENTURE."
Our small design/dev studio was interviewing a very qualified PM candidate from a large national agency here in town. When we asked about her experience there, she tried to hold it together but quickly dissolved into tears. It was like PTSD. We knew it was real since one of our team had worked there years ago. We also knew it was the place, not her, so looked past it since we’re all human and still offered her the job.
I applaud this. That means a lot to this random internet stranger. Gives me hope about moving to another agency one day.
yes omfg
Yep. On the bright side, my complaint about my current gig is that nothing is going on. So on job interviews, I sound like “I want more work, more production, more responsibilities”.
I’m still learning to navigate emotions.
Mind what I said: “Emotion”. This is what this is.
Try being positive, seeing your frustrations through a new lens. Take these frustrations that irritate your and channel those feelings to something else. Maybe creating a mechanism for action, the action being: surrounding yourself with a better team (of course this is subjective).
It’s easy to get lost when working in a company with so many people with different personalities. It’s easy to believe what’s wrong is right, but unless you learn better you’ll never know what’s truly wrong (you might discover its you).
Anyway, I trust you. Trust yourself. You’re on a mission for something. Listen to some podcasts related to what frustrates you, find better answers, set s meeting with an executive you admire, ask them. Form an opinion, and become inspired to attend your next interview.
I’m sure, when you truly achieve all of this, you’ll realize your greatest weapon is your state of mind.
yup, happened about a month ago. had a 100% shit week, did my interview. The feedback was that I lacked passion and intensity; really, I just needed a win.
No. Learn to compartmentalize if you’re really motivated to have a new future.
Yes! It’s hard to separate that shit!
