Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!
Hi, any folks has experience with the first round of interview at PwC . The candidate needs to answer to a list of questions prompted by a portal HireVue by recording oneself to the camera. The obvious question is: do you want to work in government/public sector or not? If you ever want to work in private sector then EY.
If they can access it and if it is clean (two big ifs) then government data is absolutely fascinating.

Government work is likely to be slower and more secure. The projects just take longer.
There is a small chance you work in an area you care about. I do defence work and am now working for a government department related to defence which I find interesting. Slow though, lol.
Private sector work is faster paced (the people have a more direct connection they are burning through on consulting fees) but probably will have worse wlb as a result.
To avoid sitting on the fence, if I had to guess I’d say go EY as private sector is more likely to fit your JPM experience. Unless the wlb is a big driver in which case go AFS.

AFS - better WLB, worse long term TC, worse exit ops, less interesting work
EY - worse WLB, better long term TC, better exit ops, more interesting work
