You got finessed.
Your 3 years of prior experience isn’t as valuable as you think it is. Reasonable salary.
It was at a fortune 10 IB
Sounds like you were under hired but trust me you’re not alone. I was as an hired as an Analyst in March 2019, with 2 YOE and. TS/SCI clearance at 75K.
Performed well my first year but because of covid was not given an early promotion or even a merit raise increase, so now I have 4 YOE a TS/ SCI with a poly and still making less than what this years campus hires were brought in at.
Had I would’ve known any better I would’ve asked for more, but I was making 27K at the time and thought 75 sounded great.
Appreciate it but I am not at the moment. I am not in tech or cyber and my general skill set needs a lot work. However I am learning a lot at D. So my plan is to stick out, continue to build a solid skillet. Then move on when the time is right.
While I may be paid below market, I come from nothing and very happy with 75 for the time being.
I’m joining next month at 95k. 0 YOE, advanced degree, TS/SCI.
Deloitte 10, I networked with a manager in GPS who helped me understand what I should expect for my background compensation-wise, so I knew when the recruiter lowballed me initially. I probably could’ve asked for more too since GPS was dying for people when I applied and because I’ve seen others on FB get 100-105k base for similar backgrounds.
I left Deloitte last year with 2 years of experience for $135k TC. Deloitte is known for underpaying people.
SAP
That sounds about right especially for GPS. Also depends what you’re aligned to. D doesn’t care too much about advanced degrees, they’ll still start you off a level below unless you have a top MBA or PhD/MD/JD, you’ll be like a C2 and prove yourself and fast track to get to SC
C or SC? With no clearance this honestly sounds about right for D. But they underpay in GPS. I more than doubled my salary by jumping to AFS
For a Consultant with no clearance and 3 YOE, 90k is honestly quite good in GPS. If you have a TS or higher that’d be low.
Pro
That’s a fair base for 3 YOE.
Exactly what I got 4 years ago. TC has gone up <$9k in that time.
You aren't getting particularly hosed now; but, in a few years, the low bonuses and raises will catch up.
I've never in 6 years been on a project that was aligned to my OP.... Still made it to SM. it matters if the role you're in is aligned to your OP; we deliver in cross functional teams.
~ 2 years ago I started at 84 as a C in GPS, with 2YOE and secret clearance. DMV area.
Try this, may need a D email. https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_itxnjmppp7
If it makes you feel better I was at 5 YOE (non consulting) plus an advanced degree and got brought in at 84k at C level. Should be getting promo’d this year but definitely feel like I have been working below my ability for the past 2 years.
Experienced new hire analyst at GPS 1 YOE got hired with 85k
Northeast @OP
What did you make before?
67k - I live in mid-west
Is the word “solutions” in your job title?
You’re underpaid
I was hired a while back at 65. TS sci clearance and a bunch of certs. So I got screwed. Wanna help me find a better remote job?
That’s insane. Which portfolio and what’s your level?
I have similar background OP. With degrees in Analytics but started in GPS A&C with 87k no clearance.
