I got a call from HR and offer discussion was over couple of weeks back and still waiting for them to send me final mail to release offer. May I know if they take this much time to release offer, when I did a follow up call after 10 days they said they are waiting for some approval to release offer.
Any ideas i still have chances to get offer? BNY Mellon

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Macro comparing firms is hard and won’t give you enough insight to be conclusive. At macro you can compare quantifiable data: comp, bonus, promos, PTO, other bennies. Beyond that, all firms have terrific teams and all firms have teams that are an embarrassment. When interviewing, make a point to talk with partners and others that you can expect to work with on a regular basis. Unless you are a senior level hire like an experienced director, appropriate, relevant and specific partner and director level interviews should give you line of sight of what to expect. If you are an experienced director, especially coming from an industry background, I’ve watched as for their first six months they seemed to be always swimming against the tide until they found their niche. Since they are non traditional consultants, a lot of them get caught in presumption that because they are a director, they posses the core consulting skills of a traditional consultant. Instead, these people didn’t grow up in consulting, and don’t have the core consulting skills. In their defense. they weren’t hired for those skills, they were hired for their practical knowledge. But sure enough, and it is usually the new or less experienced partners, they try to throw them into the mix and they get spit back out fairly quickly as the person in charge wanted a traditional consultant not a practical one.
Can't comment on EYs, however it depends which part of DAS (Deal Advisory and Strategy) you're in. We have AAS, FDD, and m&a strategy + diligence. I think we have a strong execution practice within m&a. Good people. Clients are the same as anywhere else.

EY deals is EY-P brand now and will be significantly better than KPMG reputation wise. Work is more or less the same.

WLB is probably significantly worse at EYP based on what you read on here though. So depends on what you want out of your next gig.
