Titles don’t pay the bills
Agree with titles don't pay bills but how come the analyst role pay higher than manager
Pro
Op, I faced the exact same dilemma; difference is it was for Google. I made the decision to accept the offer that was several steps down for three reasons:
1. hefty increase in TC, 2. Solid career path long term, 3. Its Google.
I am going for promotion next cycle in less than 18months of joining so hoping that will close the gap slightly.
Good luck!
Went through the same here recently but I actually miss my old ‘more senior’ responsibilities. I’m doing less directing work, I’m less of a senior expert, I don’t have my tight knit team of analysts underneath me - all things I miss now that I’m on the other side.

More money for less work. Seems like a win win
Lol is this even a question? You could call me dumpy mcpooface for 250 tc
Rising Star
D we already call you Dumpy. Sorry.
I think more money and less responsibility is the goal isn’t it?
How fast can you climb the ranks at the new company? Also, what company pays a Sr Analyst $250k 😂
Chief
Business Analysts were (and still) are fairly senior level roles in many large companies. Sadly most tech consulting has branded it as an entry level title, which takes away from the true gravitas the BA role really had.
Enough of a bump to make a quality of life difference. And assuming the role is impressive at a good place if they’re offering that much. I wouldn’t even blink and I’d take it
That is a material raise - take it
Thank you all for your advice. I decided to accept the offer. After some self reflection, I think I am tired of the C suite rat race, lol. So happy overall to take this and work on my side hustles (already generating me extra $5K- $8K each month) for growth/fulfillment.
Thanks , will take a look.
I’m surprised at how heavily people are siding on taking the money. I wouldn’t be so quick to make that decision.
I’ve heard frequently from mentors to not overweight any single factor: money, title, “FAANG.’ etc.
The recommended approach is generally to think about long-term goals. Where do you want to be in 5 years? In 10 years? Which role best positions you to get there?
In that framework, a higher salaried more junior role could be the right decision, but it’s not a hands down favorite.
Also, to the point that “titles don’t matter,” that’s definitely not true. I’ve sat with an SVP as she went through resumes and “Directors” at well know companies were discarded because they were “too junior.” Perhaps her POV is ignorant, but it is what is is, and reflects views that exist in the job market
I’d also ask yourself how happy you are in your current role. Life and careers are not about maximizing a single variable (money) in a never ending conquest to seek more and more. It should be about finding your truth and the right balance / mix of values in your life, money and ambition being one of them
Take some time to reflect on what really matters to you both in the short- and medium-term, then decide which of the two paths feels like the best fit.
Make a decision. If it’s not working in a year or two, Change it.
Best of luck.
Can’t argue with this advice
Tbh OP, I know the pay is great, but what happens if that company doesn’t work out long term? I would be worried that if you’re laid off there or something you’ll have a very hard time finding a comparable role.
If they really want you for that job, do you think you could get them to revise the title to Director/SM - Business Systems? They’re certainly willing to pay you as such so hopefully not a problem.
Good point D4
Title matters little. The monetary difference is humongous, you should take it.
Bro you ain’t working for a title you are working for $$$,, why is this even a question
Seems like you’ll be exiting to a tier 1/Faang? That’s normal and have heard down levels are common (Sr analysts have 10 YOE, etc). Depends what your career goals are. If you want money, there you go. If you want to be c level it will definitely hurt/take much longer imo
👍👍
How is this a question...take the money.
Externally you can call yourself as the business architect. What location is this role
