I've been rated a 1 most years and honestly I'm not very impressive. In a way it's kind of a crap chute and depends a lot on how powerful your partner is, and how much they are willing to go to bat for you.
Utilization is important but last year I had like 78% utilization and still received a 1 rating. Also, keep in mind that IRIS wins mean absolutely nothing for Associates and Seniors.
Getting a 1 is all about delivering quality work, being well liked and networked, and building your practice.
Of course so many get a 1!
Almost assuredly a 2. IRIS metrics are generally irrelevant for SAs, unless you were an active voice in the pitch and commercial negotiations. 83% is below SA target for the year so unless your name is on 3 publications from beach and magic time, expect a 2, hope for a surprise, and parlay this into a story of why you get promoted next year without question.
A cert almost nobody in the firm has. Just wondering what a 1 looks like.
As a senior, your iris wins don't really mean that much. You'll need to understand where your group fell in terms of utilization and what happened to the other slice of tour time. If you have strong reinvest projects, that helps, but being very honest your utilization is low for your level unless you have significant reinvest work
I'm an SA1
You will need to address it with your coach ahead of the CRT. What happened?
Address what?
Had a 1 the last couple of years. I was in the 90s on utilization so there's that topic, but mostly have the conversation with your RP about starting the CRT convo at a 1 and go from there (supporting/detracting points)
Hmmm, interesting. Thanks!!
