Finished my MBA and got into consulting but finding it difficult in being good at my job. I joined a client mid project and the deliverables at times are so vague. I have no consulting experience ( came from an audit background) but as a sr. Consultant the expectations from my role are high. How can I get better at problem solving, story telling and just consolidating influx of information into concise format. Having some major imposter syndrome!

I accepted a 95k systems engineer role in VA with KBR and is currently going thru a clearance.(MAY START DATE)
Northrop offers me 92k w/ 3k sign on which is 30 min from home in MD for an associate systems role. They also want to give me a clearance but it will start as an interim so I can work sooner than may. MY DILEMMA: Kbr states that they know I need money now so I can accept an offer with Northrop to see if I like it until may.BUT can I have 2 security clearances running at the same time?

Pivoting away from Sales: I’ve been in sales positions for 15 years, and I’m just exhausted by the role (disputing commissions, arguing about deals, all of it). I have a degree in marketing, but I am having a hard time landing interviews since I’ve never had a strictly marketing only role. 3 attorney firm. I’ve been here for 6 years and have used Westlaw exclusively. Now we are switching to Lexis because apparently Westlaw is too expensive. I hate change. I know where everything is on Westlaw and now I need to relearn. Apparently Westlaw will not budge on price and would rather just see a client leave than work with them. Super annoying. Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?

A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?
