I’d get another Counselor, but do your due diligence in finding another one and maybe give it 1 more year unless there are other reasons you want to leave. If there’s other reasons start looking now, if there’s not reassess this time next year
4 is crazy for just 4 months tenure. Expected a standard 3 in the worst case. How have your check-ins gone? Who were your feedback providers? What actionable feedback did you receive? How was your firm initiative if any (4 months is short and you are still learning the ropes of the firm). If your counselor doesn’t care, that could also be the issue: bad representation at consensus
Stay for a full performance year. Work hard but also start focusing on your network. At year end, the only thing that seems to matter is who knows you at the table
You have to do something wrong to get a 4... what was the feedback?
Nah just crush it this year and get a 2, you’ll be fine. Besides working a lot did you get any feedback from your project leaders?
Low utilization?
As first year with only 4 months should have been auto 3. What feedback did you receive??
Yea the 4 I heard on the consensus call kept making mistakes in their work and were not improving as a first year
You're fine. It sucks, but you're so new you can recover easily.
I got a 4 first year same situation for low utilization. Got a 2 the next year and early promo. Still sucks though because missing that raise really throws you off
Stay strong OP...rating for 1st year does not matter..kill it this year and be the person you can be !!
Counselors at D suck.
Update for everyone - thank you for the love and encouragement, still here and got fast tack promoted to manager..
thank you!
