Not sure how this is even a question with that big of a jump in comp and better WLB. You can always boomerang back later if you end up not liking the new role
Ha! McK, definitely not intending to flex here. The relationships and long term earning potential are very good reasons to think it through. But I get that overall at this point it makes sense to take the offer.
Coach
Sounds like a great offer. I would take it. You are underpaid as an SM by the way
Agree with C1, I’m a Senior Consultant in TX making $10K more in base salary. You should definitely jump on that offer. At a bare minimum, if you decide to stay in consulting, I would definitely consider leaving for another SM role in Big 4 consulting.
What's your YOE? Is 270k base? I.e. 115k increase in guaranteed income? That in itself would support the rationale for accepting the role
I'd take it without other thoughts. If you have a good network, you can always go back to consulting in a couple of years. What type of technical role is this?
Had a rockstar SM leave for industry, hotel company, hit hard by COVID, came back 4 years later as a direct admit Partner. Not sure his salary, but have a feeling his industry experience and network (had a VP role) made him more attractive and taking a guess they made his pay way better than if he stayed as a home grown. Nothing to lose, go for it!

Is that Cap One?
CapOne is the only client I’ve had in over 9 years in financial services consulting that I would actually love to work for. Haven’t been to the Dallas office, but the one is Tyson’s Corner is awesome. Congratulations!
Coach
Ya take it. Every one is “on track for partner in a few years”.
Haha! Isn’t that the truth😂
Take it. Are you in Dallas? Sounds like Cap one in Plano or Citi Tech in Irving.
Take it. No further questions asked :)
Take it
Wow, that's a huge raise. Definitely worth the risk.
Are you staying in Texas? If not, you’ll want to factor COL in, but congrats otherwise
Thanks C2. Yes staying back in Texas.
Thanks fam for such quick responses. I appreciate it. Now time to make a detailed pros and cons list 😊
