Flat out lying never ends well. Embellishment, yes, lies, no.
Never known anyone to be able to lie on this type of role and get away with it.
But they got certifications!!
I know two people that did this. One sank and the other made it all the way to the top. If you're going to lie you have to be ready for what's coming
Anyone I know who mischaracterized their experience in PM/production had a very painful experience. It definitely happens and never ends well.
Agreed. Anyone with the certs and no real world experience has stood out to me immediately.
Typically hiring managers can see inconsistencies in the interview process and they are not hired.
In the context of a role looking for “experience leading XYZ implementations” where your experience was more of a support role and not necessarily a lead.
Or experience in implementing ABC tech but your experience is in DEF.
embellish but did not lie. I had about a month to prepare for the role and then tried to figure out my gaps and put in extra time to cover my tracks until i figured it out
