For any consultants based out of Philly, how's flying in and out of PHL? Considering making the move from NYC

Philly shares airspace with New York. Assume it's similar. Some days it's great some days it's the worst airport ever.

like

The train out to the airport is really easy if traffic is bad on 95. Also, it's a pretty great airport in terms of food/amenities and is easy for security

like

Planning on living in center city? You most likely won't have to get on 76 (the worst) unless you live further out. There are a lot of back ways to the airport and like the above its easy to get on the train. It takes me about 10 minutes from Uber but from South Philly. Also lived in Conshy and it would take me 25-30 minutes.

Airport is state of the art, 1962

Here now. Worst day in 2 years. Generally not too bad

Usually not bad. I get through precheck without lines, usually same delays that you would see in NYC.

Sounds about right. Getting to and from the airport from center city isn't too bad? Worried about relying on 76 and 95. I guess it can't be worse than what I'm doing now with JFK

Generally pretty good. Often used as a backup if flight canceled from EWR.

It's called the F Terminal for a reason....

Security lines there are no issue but frequent delays. Rain on the east coast can bring the place to a grinding halt. Even more so than other places like NYC.

Sedona will be much colder, possibly snowing/icy and will be hiking, hot tub, enjoying the scenery focused. San Diego will be beach, enjoying scenery focused. Both Airbnb options look beautiful. Will also have 60 year old grandparents joining

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

I recently graduated with a masters degree in Data Analytics from University of Texas at San Antonio with a CGPA of 4.0. I am also awarded distinguished graduate student award for great academic standing and leadership skills. I have worked in india for 3 years for Uber and Amazon as Risk Analyst and quality specialist respectively. I am currently in my F1 OPT and have 30 days left before I submit my offer letter to USCIS. I can share my resume and any help is really appreciated. Thank you!

Tried this Santorini retailing for $40. Very concentrated but can’t say I was blown away by it. Volcanic terroir dominates almost to the point of obscurity, and it had strong lemon notes, hints of quince, and sea salt. It clashed with Mexican food (hey I knew that beforehand but didn’t think it would clash THAT bad, and usually pair Mexican with Riesling or Gewürztraminer) but I’m going to Greece soon and wanted to drink Greek wine. I drank half at a BYOB, took the bottle home(cont’d)

Hey friends. My wife and I are looking to start investing in the market outside of our 401ks, hsa etc. We opened a Charles Schwab brokerage account and planning to transfer 2-3k/mo. We’re in our late 20s/early 30 and likely won’t need to touch the money for 10+ years. What should be our investment strategy? How should we allocate to what funds? Thinking of splitting evenly across large, mid, small caps, and growth, value funds using DCA.

Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Question on on labor laws in the US:

Received an offer from Amazon but I'm concerned about negotiating hard and ending up with an offer that's on the higher end of the pay band when compared to the rest of the (future) team. My concern is during an economic downturn, it would be easier to let me go if the team needs to be downsized. This would be because I would have the least experience on the team & more expensive to retain from a cost perspective.

My concerns valid? #amazon #aws #faang
