@OP Is it worth it for the extra $10K as an Analyst? No. Is it worth it for the long term comp, career, and exit opportunities? Yes.
At least at BCG, we include travel time in our hours because you are almost always expected to be working during travel. I would say minimum when staffed is around ~55 per week, and median closer to 65-70
I think that’s kind of a trick question, because the projects that are lower in hours (~55) usually don’t involve travel. If you’re traveling I think there’s an assumption you work until at least 10pm on average, which comes out to ~65 hours
You don’t get to earn $300k as an MBB Engagement Manager by putting in 40 hours on your timesheet unfortunately
Been struggling with 70-80 hours a week for the past year, intense projects back to back.
Clients are usually c-suite with major initiatives so expectations from leadership and clients are super high and no room for error.
Definitely not a sustainable model, usually folks pace high burn projects with more manageable ones in between to keep it under control.
Average 60-65, the odd week down around 50-55 if I’m lucky, intense projects 70-80. Have more intense weeks than lucky ones unfortunately
MK1: does it apply to the implementation folks too? Is it different?
