I absolutely loved working at Allstate. They were a really great company to work for and have a really great culture. They also had really great benefits and growth opportunities.

I recently received my property and casualty producer license in January. Looking for a good company to learn the sales industry. Would you recommend Allstate?

Is the job title reported on the salaries section of Glassdoor? That’s my first stop when researching salary information.

Allstate is tough in many ways. They’ve gone to a DEI model with advancement for promotions so that may be huge draw for you or not. They are mostly remote which is a plus. They have some of the most uninspiring and underqualified senior leadership I’ve ever experienced. There’s a constant threat of layoffs as they continue to send more and more functions overseas. You are essentially a number and nothing else despite how long you may work there. The pay is on the low side as well.

You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader, have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.

I’m trying to pivot to PM after >3 years in finance and I have a 2nd round interview with CPO this week. Company has 3.7 on Glassdoor with complaints about CEO, “bro-y” culture, and hard to wfh. It’s a data analytics company with 5 PMs, was bought by a PE firm this year, and has a new (female) CEO as of Oct. Role is 50/50 hybrid, pays well vs what I make, and most importantly would be a foot in the door to PM. Is this a good place to be for PM? What else do I need to find out to know for sure?

Hi Fishes, Can anyone share about the work life balance, growth and culture at Tiger Analytics in Big data engineer role. Confused between Accenture and Tiger Analytics. Thanks in advance.

Considering offers from BCG Platinion and Salesforce right now. Still trying to get a grip on community and culture of both places. You find some pretty bad reviews for Platinion online but I always wonder whether the people who are content actually go out of their way to write reviews... Anyone with experience at either?

Asking for a friend:
My friend received two job offers for Account Executive roles: a Mid-Market role with Confluent and an Enterprise role with ThoughtSpot. He’s conflicted because Confluent is a more established company, ThoughtSpot is Pre-IPO. Confluent is a lucrative product to sell and has established SDR reps so there’s a good blend of inbound and outbound sales. Thoughtspot is more of a startup culture where most of the sales comes from outbound and it’s a tougher sell.

I’ve long disliked the term ethics. Definitions of ethics all refer to morals. Morals are very personal and vary a lot from person to person, culture to culture. Law is how we as a society express our preferences and impose rules and restrictions on ourselves. So the question should never be about whether companies can be ethical. What does that mean? One person thinks eating meat is unethical, another thinks it’s perfectly ethical. Companies should focus on complying with the law.

I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?
