Alas, I don't qualify.

I got the job. That is all.

Non creatives
Every ECD has a list in their head. Stay off it.
Heads of the groups. Including heads of creative departments. And they’ll sometimes talk to the CDs about who are the weak players and the strong ones.
Depends on what’s driving the layoff. If you just lost a client, it’s easiest to just let the team that serviced the work go. If you have to reduce your cost base quickly, then you typically have to weigh the value the employee delivers against their salary. Both approaches are typically done in collaboration between business leadership and creative leadership. If your CD said that “they made the decision without them,” they’re probably lying.
By silence. There's usually a secret meeting, and if a name is suggested by HR as being someone to lose, and no one speaks up in defence, that it.
Not in my experience. The decisions are usually made by people who are across everything, not just one or two clients. I certainly wouldn't blame a GCD, most likely they had zero say.
@ECD1 I suppose GCDs are invited to this secret meeting as well?
@CD3 any suggestions to stay off the list?
