Could anyone kindly tell me about the Investment Management and Private Equity Audit Group at Deloitte? 1. Work Life Balance (Is it worst than the ordinary Big 4 WLB?) 2. Is it an entirely different audit from commercial/retail audits (think account balances etc.) 3. Difficult to learn how to audit clients in this industry without prior experience in the industry?(been doing commercial audits for 3 years) 4. Are there relatively good exit opportunities for this audit group? Deloitte PwC EY

My last job was hybrid and they expected us to take PTO on our WFH days so we’d had a minimum of 3 days in office. It was stupid, many people didn’t follow it.
Its a %. So if you take a day off that you stay at home it will boost it. If you take a day off you work in the office, it will lower.
It varies by team, but general company policy here, today, is:
1) In office at least three days per week.
And
2) PTO/holiday count positively toward your in-office days.
So when we have a Monday off for holiday, you’re expected to work two days in-office. If you take 3 days PTO one week, you may WFH the remaining 2 days. My team does not require which days each week are in-office vs remote days, but I’ve heard that some teams do.
I’ve heard rumors that some managers push for 3 in-office days no matter what. But that hasn’t been my experience.
My own personal policy is to just try to be close to 60% of my working days for a week in the office, without going too far over 60%.
1 day off => 2in, 2wfh
2 days off => 2in, 1wfh
3 days off => 1in, 1wfh
4 days off => 1wfh
It is just a system I set up for myself, I think it is reasonable, and my manager has never said anything about how often I am in or out of the office so they probably think it is fine too.
However, your manager might not agree and can enforce the policy however they interpret it.
For us, it's whatever day the PTO day falls on. So, if you take Friday off and you're normally WFH that day, then you still work your normal in-office days the rest of the week.
Honestly, there is a cheat system we practice.
Not sure if it will work in your case.
We go to the office 2x a week. Tuesday & Friday.
If we have vacation on either day, we do not have to “make up” the day and come another day.
Managers have expected others to still come in to the office to make up the day 😂😂 which is absurd.
Also, if there is an upcoming holiday - which most land on a Monday. Then we change our office days to Monday and Friday for that holiday week cause that means we only go Friday 😂😂. I’ll continue to be against this change. Doesn’t make sense why we have to go to the office if we were doing perfectly fine wfh. Is it a real estate issue or what does everyone think? Cause this is a domino effect amongst every company changing policies of hybrid schedules.
If an employee takes PTO, they should not be expected to work any portion of their scheduled days, whether in the office or at home. However, it is always a good idea to clarify any expectations or concerns about PTO with your manager or HR department to ensure that you understand your company's policies and expectations.
Nope, I don't come in 3 days, I just plan it according to my annual leave/PTO. Like if my PTO is 3 days, then that's that - not coming in more to make up for it or anything
